Bee-Hive After School
What You Can Expect
Similarly to the Bee-Hive Breakfast Club this service is provided for children aged 4 – 12 years old at the end of their School day until 6pm. A qualified experienced practitioner will collect your child and return safely back to nursery.
For added safety practices we encourage the children to each wear a high vis vest on our travels and usually we will enjoy the fresh air and physical fitness and carry out a walking bus from School though on occasions management may decide that it is appropriate to use transportation.
Any vehicles used for transportation have relevant business insurance.
Practitioners who are responsible to carry out this service will have relevant clearances issued by the Disclosure & Barring Service, First Aid Training, Safeguarding and have a minimum level 2 childcare qualification.
Please note that Risk Assessments and appropriate safety measures are put into place.
Once the children return from School they are greeted with a warm welcome and surrounded by a relaxed atmosphere.
The children will be offered a balanced healthy light tea which range from a variety of sandwiches, crumpet, pizza, crackers along with fruit or yogurt. Every other day the children have the additional option of ‘treat’ such as cake, biscuit or ice cream.
Afterwards the children are empowered and actively encouraged to decide together how best to spend their time.
Time is well spent having fun socialising. Various activities are provided such as crafts, baking, indoor and outdoor games, music and dancing. Console times are allocated. Practitioners are also able to assist in supporting those with homework or reading if this is child lead, alternative they may have had such a tiring day at School it might be that they just want to relax and unwind.
