We encourage you to use your full entitlement for consistency, however this is not a must.
There is also the option to pay for wrap around care outside of funded hours should you require it.
Please see fee information for costs.
Will there be any additional costs?
There is the option to access government funded hours only with no additional costs.
Meals, snacks, consumables and additional services such as Kimbles and trips are optional, and
parents are not required to purchase them to access their funded hours
The government funded hours are to cover the care only and not intended to cover the cost of meal,
consumables and additional optional services we therefore ask for a voluntary cash contribution of
50p per snack.
When assessing the 30 hours government funding, dinner served at 12pm we offer the option of a hot
lunch, this is charged at £3.70. Or families can provide their own healthy packed lunch.
We ask that parents provide their own consumables such as nappies, wipes, sun cream etc.
We offer fortnightly music and movement sessions from an outside agency ‘Kimbles’. This optional
extracurricular activity is charged at £2 per session.
All nursery trips are optional and will be charged additionally. Information will be provided prior via our
FAMLY app.
Invoices are clearly itemised to allow parents to identify the free government funded hours, contracted
private hours outside of funding and any chargeable meals.
Any additional services such as Kimbles and trips will be invoices separately.
If you need any support with additional costs, please speak to a member of the management
team.
Is the funding only available in Term Time?
Government funding is offered Term Time only – 38 weeks of the year. This is in line with Derbyshire/Staffordshire
term dates (nursery dependant) and stipulated by the local authority. Each year we are sent our funding calendar in the summer term
with dates for the following academic year. These are then shared with our families via the FAMLY
app.
Please note that schools are open 39 weeks of the year minus 5 inset days (equaling 38 weeks). As
Early Years settings do not have inset days government funding is offered over 38 weeks of the year.
Therefore there is an extra week each year that schools might be open although funding is not
provided. As this is stipulated by the local authority we cannot guarantee which week this will be until we receive
our funding calendar, although this usually results in an extra week at either Easter or Christmas.
The Honey Pots Day Nursery LTD does not offer stretch funding.
If you require care all year round care;
Private care is offered all year round, minus bank holidays and one week for Christmas shut down. If
you require an all year round contract please speak to a member of the management team.
Please note that only sessions accessed in term time can be securely offered during non-funded
weeks. Additional care can be requested and obtained subject to availability.
Does my child have to attend every session?
For any contracted sessions, you are expected to attend regularly. For any sessions not attended, on
return you will be asked to sign an absence log and add a brief reason for non-attendance.
You are welcome to take holidays, family events, appointments etc.
We ask you to follow the HSC Guidance for infectious control in schools and other childcare settings
in relation to absences for sickness/illnesses.
Regular attendance is required by the LA and we are required to report sustained non-attendance and
funding may be at risk if your child is absent for 4 or more consecutive weeks or for more than 20
sporadic days in a term without extenuating circumstances.
Am I guaranteed a place in preschool?
Upon registration you will be asked to confirm if you require a preschool place.
If you do not require a preschool place due to your child attending a school preschool we ask that this
is confirmed on your registration form and a place will not be reserved in our preschool room.
If you confirm that your child will be attending preschool at Honey Pots this will be reserved and the
funding application will be processed.
If your requirements change please inform a member of the management team at your earliest
convenience
*Places are offered on a first come first serve basis, however priority may be given to those with siblings already attending the setting.
